Mt. Binacayan: Climb For A Cause

Last March 18, Paige invited me and David to go on a hiking trip with some of her friends. It was supposed to be a twin day hike to Mt. Binacayan and Mt. Pamitinan but my knees didn't make it after the first hike. My boyfriend and I only managed to finish Mt. Binacayan and had successfully trudged the steep and rocky trail (I advise you to wear gloves because of the sharp rocks along the way). This was already my 4th hiking expedition but my quads are always killing me.

This blog post is not just about sharing our climbing experience to Mt. Binacayan and Mt. Pamitinan. This is also meant for Krisha Balberona; a sister of one of Paige's friends, Katrina Balberona. She was diagnosed and is now battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) with subtype M5 at the early age of 16. For those who do not know, this sweet angel is congenitally deaf as well.

One of her sister's friends organized this twin day hike in order to raise money for her medical expenses. Although there were only 11 people who were able to join the hike, Krisha's family was still beyond thankful. Many are still continuing their support for Krisha and her family.

She is seeking medical attention now at Capitol Medical Center and her treatment requires chemotherapy and non-stop blood transfusion. Her family is appealing to your kind heart for support to assist Krisha with her medical treatment needs. Today, Krisha has lost most of her hair because of chemotherapy. But this child is a fighter and is still as sweet and active as before. Even though she's still young, she sees and understands how much effort her family and friends give her. She tries to become their source of energy by being cheerful and hopeful that she will recover.

This kid deserves a second chance in life and your generosity could grant her the life she deserves.

For donations, you may message Krisha's sister in facebook and could deposit directly to her BPI account:
